I have used a number of ESR products and have been very happy with them. However, they have let the quality slip with this product. Details areimportant.
Aside from being heavy:
1. The delay for BT connection is too long.
2. It does not close all the way (unless you fasten the pencil protector strap. The hinge is too loose.
3. The QR code to register the device and extend the warranty flat out does not work. It take you to an invalid web page. Sloppy on their part.
4. To demonstrate the sloppiness and lack of attention to detail, the instruction sheet was obviously written for a different device. It details the use of the Fn key with the numeric keys when they supply a whole row of function keys. Completely unacceptable.

Great keyboard for the 13” M4 iPad Pro. You can’t beat the price and quality is excellent! No issues with the trackpad.

I bought this screen protector for the paper feel and it is nice to write on for sure. The installation video link was non existent and when I googled I couldn’t find one unfortunately. The tray application didn’t line up perfectly so I had to reposition and the end result left me with bubbles on my screen..Good feel, bad execution

Man putting this on was a pain in the butt. I thought it was going to be super easy and awesome when I opened the box and saw the holder and everything and thought it was cool that it came with two of everything just in case. Well thank goodness it came with two of everything because I needed it. Cleaning the screen and the supplies they provided for that was awesome and the video to follow along with was great – I would have given this five stars if it went smoothly from there. However putting the film across the surface of my iPad was a pain as it was impossible to remove all the air bubbles from beneath the completely clean screen even with the smoothing tool provided. I lifted up a corner of the second protective film to check and some of the bubbles were from that film over the screen protector. There was one odd shape that wouldn’t smooth out and I had to lift up the screen protector to check and it was a flaw in the second film, but I had already messed up the screen protector checking that and so I needed to use the second one. Due to having to start the process over, there was some dust that got stuck to the screen and then this was a pain to get rid of after having used the cleaning supplies already and then apply the second screen protector. I had to press so hard and wipe so much I was afraid I was going to damage either the screen or the protector or both. Had the same problem with the air bubbles being impossible to remove and using a razor blade, I was able to carefully lift up the edge of the screen protector and grab a speck of dust with tweezers. I got most of the air bubbles out but there remains like one or two very small ones near the edge that are stubborn af. Finally had to just call it good enough. The texture of the protector is a little bit rough, it’s gonna take some getting used to if I decide to keep it on there. The degradation to the quality of the screen is disappointing even if expected…a matte protector seems like there’s always some degradation but the rainbow pixel effect is maddening to look at.

Okay so I had my sight on the Magic Keyboard seeing as I already owned the 2020 iPad with it and it was great. However, my new iPad I spent $1899 and well at this point another $350 didn’t seem reasonable. Also the new Magic Keyboard won’t stay on your lap when traveling the way this one can. Neither would the Logitech keyboard for the iPad because of its designs, both do great on flat surfaces. This ESR keyboard does better, and because it has a built in battery it is bottom heavy which makes it a better fit for use as a laptop. Also I like the fact that I can also use it in portrait mode so when I type on what would be am 8.5 x 11 in paper, I can see right off the bat what it will look like. And at a fraction of the price I don’t know why want to spend 3 times the amount. The track pad is small, but no smaller than my old iPad Pro had and it works perfect with the multi touch gestures. I also like the fact that when I take it off the keyboard I still have the iPad in a rubber case for protection. This is awesome and it seems like ESR is going to be a good competitor.

The Anti glare, the feel is amazing. The feel and material is too notch as well as the fingerprint resistance

I had bought and returned the Apple M4 Keyboard – That was light, Apple like BUT, apart from the high cost had a TERMINAL FLAW – Apple Keyboard could not do Portrait!<br /><br />Anyway I had already been looking at ESR and had bought it but was about to send it back unopened, as it was heavier than the Apple M4 but as the failure of Apple to admit to not being able to Portrait Mode, I sent that back and tried to the ESR…..<br /><br />Yes, it is heavier BUT then the iPad Pro M4 13 inch, itself, is light.<br /><br />The ESR encompasses the iPad in a protective case which the Apple Version does not – I prefer this – as it means the iPad is protected when not used with the Keyboard. Also it adds some of the extra weight compared to Apple’s – not much, but negates some of the Apple weight advantage, which does not offer this direct protection.<br /><br />The Keyboard’s Magnetic back switches from Landscape to Portrait and back to Landscape, with ease.<br /><br />You CANNOT charge your iPad via it but no big issue – just remember you need to charge up the keyboard too with the USB-C Port, on the right.<br /><br />It connects via Bluetooth, with ease.<br /><br />Touchpad works well – though smaller than Apple’s – not a biggie.<br /><br />Stores the iPad Pencil under the conventional top flap to safely secure it on the magnetic edge.<br /><br />And all for a 1/4 of the price! Well done ESR!
