ESR did a good job on the inner case. It is a snug fit, with good hole alignment, and responsive buttons. The outer folio stand, which enables all the various angles and positions does add a lot of bulk to the new "thinnest ever" iPad models. The magnets which hold the back of the case to the folio are really strong and secure. However, the magnets are quite weak for the front cover, they cannot hold it closed and the front slides about very easily. The wake/sleep function does work OK, but the looseness is annoying. The raised screen position is really nice for desk viewing use, but wobbles a lot when touching the screen. Portrait mode is also useful, but the magnets only work with the USB-C port orientated to the bottom, so it is not possible to charge or sync by cable whilst in this position. The weak front cover magnets and overall bulkiness mean it doesn’t feel great in the hand. I think I will be returning it.

Best case for my M4 iPad.
all the magnets are strong and all the viewing angles is the best feature.

It’s well made, has unique features but what’s the point of having the thinnest, lightest iPad ever made if you’re going to put a rather heavy case on it?

After returning an other iPad Pro M4 launch case (which I won’t name) I ordered this one off of ESR in hopes it wouldn’t be trash.Let’s see about that! :pI chose blue but it also comes in boring black too. The core case is made of a softer plastic (maybe TPU?). It has a raised lip that protects the screen a bit, which is nice. The inside has a soft feel. It’s not fabric but somehow feels like softer texture than the rest of the case. Much nicer than rigid plastic on other cases that won’t be named.Putting the iPad Pro 11” inside the core case, I immediately noticed a very snug fit.All holes and cutouts are aligned perfectly. The core case does add some weight but not enough to complain about. Now the core or main case magnetically attaches to the the folio. The magnets are strong! Once attached, weight becomes MUCH more noticeable. Similar to my Zugu case with 2018 12.9” iPad Pro. That’s definitely something to complain about for some of you. The saving grace about this beefcake folio is two fold (no pun intended).1) The Folio can be left behind and your iPad would still be protected by the main case. You can use the folio as a home base of sorts and dock it at your desk / bedside when needed. Put a screen protector on that sucker and you’re still better off than Apples own folio (protection wise).2) The Folio part is fricken great.Yup, fricken great. You see those six grooves? The bottom flap uses magnets that fit inside and don’t budge unless you force it to. Once you get to the 4th 5th and 6th groove, the case becomes a bit wobbly which would be an other unfortunate CON if the second flap on top didn’t exist! Second flap? Brilliant bit of engineering. Once you deploy that, it’s back to being completely sturdy. No wobbles!Tested the case in bed and unsurprisingly it worked perfectly.I was at the Apple Store testing out their folio on my lap and even now that it’s redesigned to be more stable, it still isn’t sturdy enough to inspire confidence on my lap (in the upright position) let alone laying down. I digress but the ESR case is ideal in this regard. One last thing on viewing options.Detach the main case from the folio and move it up a few inches until it magnetically snaps back in again. That’s right, your ipad pro’s case lifts, bro!Looking at ESR’s info, (or reading that silly comment I just typed) I wouldn’t blame you for passing this feature off as gimmicky. It’s totally not though and actually really useful. Raising the iPad those few inches gives a better viewing angle on a desk, counter etc.. The best part is it’s still sturdy to the point that I’m comfortable using it this way in bed.And it’s way more comfortable this way because my head doesn’t have to be propped up with my neck bent as much! Now that I’m done gushing about the folio, there are a couple more things worth mentioning. The sides of the folio can feel a bit sharp while handling. Not sure if it’s a good idea to file them down myself but it would be great if these edges were rounded off. The sides of the main case also have a bit of flex to them when holding the iPad. When you fold the flap from the folio closed to protect your iPad’s screen, a magnet tells the ipad to go to sleep. Unfortunately, this magnet does not keep the flap closed for some reason. If you let gravity have its way and flip the case over, the cover will fling open. I think this is an oversight and something ESR should definitely fix.So yea, I think that’s all I have to say for now. Honestly, this launch has been a bit of a 💩 show with cases. Among the ones available, this ESR Shift series is the star of the show by a wide margin. Is it perfect? No. The folio part is really heavy, the sides are sharp to the touch and the flap cover won’t stay closed. But I’ll take these tradeoffs for the sturdiness and features it has (for now). Additionally this is hands down better than my old Zugu case which surprised me.Thanks for watching, don’t forget to like, sub… oh wait, that’s not what we do here… 🤣

I first must say that it as interesting to see how many comments were submitted about This product before the iPad it is supposed to support even launched…or was even announced in a few instances!I got everything on launch day, 5/15/24, so here are some observations after owning this case for 16 hours.Th way the case is designed seems to allow for a lot of functionality. One can view the device to be viewed in many different angles, from several positions and in both orientations. There are even angles designed to optimize typing. The silicone tray that holds the iPad is a very tight fit, but it will accommodate a 2024 iPad Pro 11 inch device. This tray contains magnets that hold the cover securely in place, But it can also be used without the cover for a nicer hand feel. Not sure how durable this case is supposed to be or how long it is supposed to last, as I have only had it a short time, but I like it and am happy to have found it!

I love my iPad. And I always keep a fairly new model. I just bought the latest model announced this month. So I immediately looked for the Zugu iPad cover but it was not yet out and I did not see any press release on when it might be released so I looked at the various other covers. So I selected this cover since it has many of the “must have” features of the zugu…and it was a bit less $$. I just hoped it was the same high quality as zugu.I am rough on my iPads and I need a cover that can take the abuse. I use it 8-10-hrs/day and prop it up a bazillion different ways. This new cover does look/act, for the most part, like a Zugu. If I had to guess, this company used the Zugu as their guide. What do I like about this version? I like that it is very close to the Zugu design. I like that it is a bit cheaper in cost (but it is also made more cheaply). It also has a feature where I can flip the iPad from landscape mode to portrait mode but I have not used that a bit, preferring/requiring landscape mode for my needs. I have a need for landscape mode once every few years. What do I not like about it? Primarily it just seems cheaply made. The tactile feel that I get with Zugu is better, less plastic and more leathery. Do not get me wrong, it is far, far better than 95% of the iPad cover choices out there but Zugu sets a high std and this one just seems a bit underwhelming compared to the Zugu.I also hate that the new Apple pro pencil falls out of the ipad case’s “charging station” constantly. The case barely holds it in place and if you just stand up quickly, the pencil, which is held in place by magnets that are too weak, falls to the floor. My pencil has fallen twice in two days and I never knew it…forcing me to go look around the house for it. There is a secure place to store the apple pencil but the pencil pro drains its internal battery quickly and, in order to be useful, must be kept in the charging station in order to be ready to use when you need it. The case is good/ok but not great. If you plan to buy the new Apple Pencil pro, it may be a non-starter for you.I will buy the Zugu case the day it comes out.Note : I have no ties to either company. I know no one who works in either company. I bought the cover from ESR at full price out of my pocket. I had hoped this company’s product would exceed my expectations. But, as I indicated above, I like the Zugu iPad covers a bit better…enuf to pay $20 more to get one.

I like the different positions that I can put the iPad, the magnets are great, it makes the equipment secure. The protector detaches of the rest of the case if you just want to hold it in your hand. It fits perfect my iPad pro 2024.It has a textile material slot that you slide your pencil, it’s on the back which makes it difficult because the iPad needs to be upside down, so you wouldn’t scratch the pencil if set on a surface. The case does add a bit of weight because of the magnets.

The case is alright and the features are interesting but I feel it is sloppy and the cover is not that great, It may meet some expectations but it doesn’t meet mine and I will be buying a case from Z**U when it’s available for my model.

I love this IPAD case. It can be used as both a protective case and a stand for reading/writing/media usage.1. The bumper case attaches with the stand magnetically, so you can use it with just the bumper case. It has great buttons2. It attaches to the stand part of the case magnetically, where you use it primarily for watching content or writing with the pencil. It has 6 positions of tilt, which are enough for reading and writing at appropriate angle.Note that it has the pencil sleeve too. I keep the stand part of the case on my desk, and take the iPad with bumper around the house as needed.

I ordered the new one right after purchasing the new iPad Pro 11, because I already own the previous version of this case for my current iPad Pro 11. I started with Zugu, but this is better! 🙂
