FAQ
What should I do if my phone heats up when using the MagSafe power bank?

It’s normal for wireless charging to cause slight warmth, especially during intensive use like gaming or streaming. However, if the device becomes excessively hot, it may indicate an issue.

To help prevent overheating, please avoid:

  • Using a phone case thicker than 2 mm.

  • Placing metal accessories, credit cards, or pop sockets between the phone and power bank.

  • Charging both the battery and phone at the same time.

Our power bank has two overheating protection mechanisms: one for the battery at 140°F (60ºC) and one for the coil at 113°F (45ºC). It's normal if  both the phone and power bank to feel warm during wireless charging.

If the phone’s temperature rises too much, charging will pause. Charging may also stop when the battery reaches 80%, due to Apple’s overheating protection.

If this happens:

  • Disconnect the phone, remove the case, and let both the phone and power bank to cool down.

  • Close unused apps on the phone.

  • Once both devices have cooled, you can resume charging.

If the issue continues, contact ESR Customer Support for further assistance. Please mention any troubleshooting steps you've already taken, so we can help resolve the issue faster.

What should I do if my phone is not charging wirelessly/charging slowly on the Magsafe power bank?

Please check:

 ● Your phone is an iPhone with MagSafe (iPhone 12 series or later).

 ● Your protective case is less than 2mm thick.

 ● There are no metal accessories, credit cards, or pop sockets between your phone and the power bank.

Additional information about wireless charging speeds:

 ● Wireless charging is not as fast as wired charging.

 ● Limiting the number of applications you have open simultaneously on your phone will improve charging speed.

 ● High temperatures will reduce charging speed and restrict power, which is something that happens during wireless charging.

 ● When your iPhone stops charging at 80%, it may be due to "Optimized Battery Charging". Please check whether turning it off helps. Click Settings > Battery > Battery Health > Turn off "Optimized Battery Charging". If you haven't enabled "Optimized Battery Charging", the issue is mostly caused by the iOS upgrade. Please upgrade or wait for the next system upgrade.

Why is my power bank charging less than expected?

The capacity reduction during charging is due to a 30% to 45% energy loss in the battery cells and conversion circuitry. Therefore, a fully charged power bank (10K) offers an estimated 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh to power devices.

A typical smartphone has a battery capacity of under 4,000mAh. Therefore, a power bank with a 10,000mAh capacity can charge the majority of smartphones at least twice to 100% capacity.

What should I do if my iPhone displays a "Charging on Hold" notification?

Please use your iPhone in environments with temperatures between 32ºF and 95ºF (0ºC to 35ºC).

If your iPhone is exposed to extreme temperatures, it may not charge. Charging will pause if the phone becomes too hot or too cold, and a "Charging On Hold" message will appear on the Lock Screen and in Settings > Battery. Charging will resume once the device returns to a normal temperature.

To resume charging:

  • If the device is too hot, move it to a cooler location away from direct sunlight.

  • If the device is too cold, move it to a warmer area.

  • If the device is in use, lock the screen or put it to sleep.

Important Safety Instructions:

● Operating temperature should be between 32°F to 95°F/0°C to 35°C.

● Do not expose power bank to rain, snow, or any humid environment.

● If the power bank expands or gets extremely hot, stop using immediately. Damaged batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.

● Do not disassemble this power.

● Turn off the power bank when not in use.
